Bio

Dr. William Gershan received his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin, completed his Pediatric residency at the University of Michigan, a clinical fellowship in pediatric pulmonology at McGill University/Montreal Children’s Hospital in Canada, and a research fellowship at Washington University School of Medicine/St. Louis Children’s Hospital. He was most recently a Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee and was the Director of the Pediatric Pulmonary Function Laboratory there since 1990. Dr. Gershan accepted the position of Division Chief of Pediatric Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine at the University of Utah in September 2010.

He is currently practicing pediatric pulmonology at Primary Children’s Medical Center and at the Pediatric Pulmonary Clinic at Primary Children’s Outpatient Services at Riverton. He oversees a wide spectrum of pulmonary problems in children, with particular interests in asthma, cystic fibrosis, apparent life-threatening events (ALTEs), neuromuscular diseases, and pulmonary function testing in children.
