Bio

Shauna Desai, MD graduated from the University of Scranton with a BS in Biology and Neuroscience. She graduated from Drexel University College of Medicine and completed her adult psychiatry training at Thomas Jefferson University. She then went on to complete her fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at North Shore Long Island Jewish University.

She is board certified in general psychiatry and board eligible for child and adolescent psychiatry.

Her clinical interests include gender identity and immigration psychiatry.

Academic Bio

Dr. Desai received her undergraduate education at the University of Scranton and her M.D. from Drexel University College of Medicine. She completed her adult psychiatry residency at Thomas Jefferson University and her child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship from Long Island Jewish North Shore University Hospital.

She joined the faculty at The University of Utah in 2010. She is an assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics in the Division of Behavioral Health. Her clinical interests involve children struggling with sexuality and gender identity and she is working to implement a clinic specific to these needs in the outpatient department.
