  • Toni Hesse, MD, Assistant Professor (Clinical), earned her medical degree at the Sanford School of Medicine at the University of South Dakota. She completed a psychiatry residency and a child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship here at the University of Utah School of Medicine. During training, Dr. Hesse conducted a pilot investigation in the use of a mindfulness based intervention for adolescent headaches and developed a particular interest in DBT (dialectical behavior therapy). She is board-certified in Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology. Dr. Hesse enjoys working on the child inpatient unit and the internationally recognized Comprehensive Assessment and Treatment (CAT) program at the University of Utah Huntsman Mental Health Institute.
