Academic Bio

Dr. Michael "Jay" Buys is assistant clinical professor of Anesthesiology. Prior to joining the University of Utah, Dr. Buys was an Officer in the Air Force and served as the director of research for the Department of Anesthesia at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium (SAUSHEC) for 3 years. Dr. Buys' research interests include ways to prevent and treat acute and chronic pain as well as regional anesthesia techniques for pain control.
