Bio

Dr. Nitsche, a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, completed her adult psychiatry residency training at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas and child psychiatry and community psychiatry fellowship training at Emory University in Atlanta Georgia before moving to Utah in 2010. For the last 2 years, she has worked for Intermountain Healthcare, practicing at McKay-Dee Hospital's Behavioral Health Institute with children, adolescents, and adults in both inpatient and outpatient settings as well as in the community. She has recently transitioned to the University of Utah and currently works at the University Neuropsychiatric Institute with children and adolescents on the inpatient unit as a hospitalist.

Academic Bio

An early career psychiatrist, Dr. Nitsche is a recent graduate of Emory University where she completed child and adolescent psychiatry and community psychiatry fellowship training with a Masters in Public Health in Health Policy and Management. For her thesis, she explored the mental health needs and treatment of commercially sexually exploited children in Atlanta and worked with a group of advocates and professionals on the development of a system of care. She is currently a member of the Committee on Community-based Systems of Care with the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and enjoys teaching medical students, residents, and fellows in addition to her work clinically at the University Neuropsychiatric Institute.
