Academic Bio

Dr. Candice Montzingo is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology. Her interests include the use of perioperative echocardiography in cardiac and non-cardiac operations to diagnose pathologic processes and guide management strategies. She is a member of the cardiac and echocardiography teams at the University of Utah.

Prior to coming to Utah, Dr. Montzingo practiced Anesthesiology at The Nebraska Medical Center where she was integral in developing a team of physicians trained in perioperative echocardiography. She was an instructor for the National Academy of Perioperative Echocardiography; an executive medical fellowship program teaching physicians from other institutions in the United States perioperative transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography.

Dr. Montzingo is a Fellow of the American Society of Echocardiography and is actively involved in the Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists.
