  • Dr. Flynn attended medical school at New York Medical College. She completed internal medicine residency training at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and gastroenterology fellowship training at the Indiana University School of Medicine, where she served as Chief Fellow. She completed an advanced fellowship in inflammatory bowel disease at Indiana University, where she served as Visiting Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine. Her clinical interests include diagnosis and management of inflammatory diseases of the GI tract including Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, and microscopic colitis. Her clinical work includes video capsule endoscopy, treatment of recurrent Clostridium difficile infection, and fecal microbiota transplantation. She is passionate about women's GI health, shared decision-making discussions, patient education, personalized care for patients with inflammatory bowel disease, and assisting patients transitioning care from pediatric to adult GI clinics.

    The University of Utah Inflammatory Bowel Disease Program is a participating site in IBD Qorus, a collaboration between patients and healthcare providers to streamline and improve the quality of IBD care across the country, to ensure all patients receive high-quality care, treatment, and outcomes. Dr. Flynn serves as the IBD Qorus physician leader for the University of Utah.

    Dr. Flynn is board certified in Gastroenterology. She is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterological Association, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation.
