Emily graduated from Vanderbilt’s MSN program in 2015 with a dual specialty as a Family Nurse Practitioner and a Nurse-Midwife.

Emily received her Bachelor’s degree in Public Health Education from James Madison University in 2008. After finishing her undergraduate degree, she served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Rwanda working in the health and development sector. During her time spent in Rwanda, she gained a newfound appreciation for the desperate need for accessible, equitable healthcare, especially as it relates to women’s health and reproductive choices. After graduating with her MSN, she returned to Rwanda on a Frist Global Health Leadership fellowship and worked as a Nurse-Midwife at a maternity hospital. Upon leaving Rwanda, she was working at a busy private practice in Louisville, Kentucky.

Emily’s philosophy to care is to ‘meet people where they are’. Emily aims to provide comprehensive, holistic, family-centered care and feels incredibly blessed to be able to build relationships with women and families, advocate and educate. She loves that she has the privilege of working with women, helping to empower themselves and make informed decisions about their health and healthcare needs.

She is currently accepting new patients.

Emily is a Connecticut native who loves being west of the Mississippi and enjoys travel, being outdoors hiking and sailing, and spending time with family and friends.

Appointment felt sped up and rushed, answers to questions were very snipped and short. I was told I was the last appt. of the day for the provider, and it felt like there were more important places to be besides present in my appt.

Emily is very kind, but also great on calling out my BS. She is a great provider for a terrible patient like myself. I love her.

Emily was very brief while explaining issues I was having and seemed to assume that I would not listen to her medical advice, becoming defensive and describing worst case scenarios before even listening to what I wanted.
