Although the site has changed, you can still access the same useful information quickly and easily.

How do I "bookmark" the home page for future reference?

To bookmark the page using Internet Explorer, select Favorites from the menu bar across the top of your browser, then click Add to Favorites. The default Name is University Health Care, if you want to leave it as is, click OK. To change the Name, enter the preferred name in the Name field, then click OK. To retrieve the bookmark, select Favorites from the browser menu bar, click the page you want to view.

To bookmark the page using Netscape, select Communicator from the browser menu bar, choose Bookmarks, Add Bookmark. To retrieve the bookmark, select Communicator from the browser menu bar, then Bookmarks, and select the page you want to view.

How do I get better search results?

To conduct a search on the University Health Care site, enter the keyword(s) in the Search box in the upper-right corner of the page, then click search! Search results matching the criteria you entered will be displayed; you may then search the University Health Care site (which includes the University Health Sciences Center), the University of Utah, or the Internet. For help in conducting a search and advanced help, click on the respective links.

The University's search engine is powered by Inktomi.

How do I change the resolution on my computer?

The University Health Care Home page was designed for Internet Explorer 5.0 and Netscape 4 or higher with a resolution of 800x600 and 16 bit/6500 colors or better.

To change the resolution on your PC:
  • From the Start Menu, select Settings, Active Desktop, Customize My Desktop.
  • Click on the Settings tab.
  • Select High Color (16 bit) from the Colors drop-down box.
  • Click and hold the sliding bar under Screen Area to adjust the pixel size to 800x600 or 1024x768.
  • Click the Apply button.
  • Click the OK. button
To change the resolution on your Mac (OS 9 or earlier):
  • From the Apple Menu, select Control Panels, Monitors.
  • Click on 1024x768 from the list of supported resolutions.
  • Click on Thousands (or Millions) of colors.
  • Close the window by clicking on the x in the upper-left hand corner.
To change the resolution on your Mac (OS X or later):
  • From the Apple Menu, select System Preferences.
  • Click on Displays.
  • Click on 1024x768 from the list of supported resolutions.
  • Select Thousands (or Millions) of colors from the drop-down box.
  • Close the window by clicking the ball (red with an x in it) furthest to the left on the top bar.

I am looking for a specific person or department on campus. How do I find them?

I am looking for directions to a building on campus or to a clinic at the Hospital. Where can I find campus and hospital maps?

We have assembled a variety of maps to make it easier to locate Health Sciences Facilities. If you don't find what you are looking for at the Hospital, try the directions to the University campus or the interactive campus map. You may also use our Find a Location tool where you can find maps provided by mapquest.

I would like to work at the University. Where do I look for employment opportunities?

The Department of Human Resources provides an online listing of open job postings for the University campus including University Hospitals & Clinics, University Neuropsychiatric Institute, Huntsman Cancer Institute, etc. Human Resources' Web address is www.hr.utah.edu. The University is an equal opportunity employer.
