Over the years, eggs have gotten a bad rap. They contain cholesterol, which experts believed was the leading cause of heart disease. As a result, many people banished eggs from their diet. "More recent studies have shown that saturated fat, not cholesterol, is the primary contributor of heart disease," says Susan Terry, M.D., an internal medicine physician at University of Utah Health Care.
