Statistics for Vaginal Cancer
Some people use statistics to try to figure out their chance of getting cancer or of being cured. It is important to remember that these data show what happens with large groups of people. Because no two people are alike, you can’t use this information to know or predict what will happen to you.
Below are 2012 United States statistics about vaginal cancer, from the American Cancer Society:
Vaginal cancer is rare. It accounts for about one percent of all reproductive cancers in women.
About 2,680 women will be diagnosed with the disease this year.
An estimated 840 women will die from vaginal cancer this year.
