Information Desk Volunteer

Purpose

Provide support to the information desk personnel

Reports To

Information desk supervisor

Days/Hours

Daily, 9:00 am–1:00 pm, 1:00–5:00 pm

Volunteer Duties/Responsibilities

  • Provide information to callers and direct them to proper patient room, clinics, or various departments.
  • Receive, greet, and give verbal directions to visitors so as to get them to appropriate person or office.
  • Answer questions about the organization and associated activities.
  • Be responsible for delivering newspapers on a rotating schedule to patient rooms.
  • Process and distribute greeting postcards.
  • Assist patients and family into the hospital, walking, or by wheelchair.
  • Perform all other duties as requested and/or directed.

Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and be able to walk people to different locations throughout the hospital.
