TRAILS Peer/Mentor
Purpose
To connect those with newly acquired spinal cord injury/dysfunction to others who have been living with SCI/D and who can help identify community resources, overcome environmental barriers, and provide physical and psychosocial support.
Reports To
TRAILS Executive Committee member responsible for the volunteer program.
Days/Hours

Varying shifts

Monday - Friday (Will need to commit to a minimum of fifteen (15) hours per month.
Volunteer Duties/Responsibilities
-
Complete TRAILS peer/mentor training program.
-
Advise patients about living with SCI.
-
Provide referrals and information about resources.
-
Attend ongoing meetings with other peer/mentors.
-
Adhere to additional hospital policy and procedures.
-
Enjoy working with persons with disabilities.
-
Help establish marketing training programs for additional volunteers.
