e-Healthcare Leadership Awards WinnerThe Cancer Types and Topics section of HCI’s public website received a Best Health/Healthcare Content Distinction Award from Strategic Health Care Communications. This program recognizes top websites and digital efforts of health care organizations both large and small—rated based on a standard of Internet excellence and how they compare with others in their group classification. From more than 1,000 entries nationwide, winners were recognized during the 18th Annual Healthcare Internet Conference held November 3-5, 2014 in Scottsdale, Arizona.

An ongoing collaborative effort involving HCI’s Communications team, Cancer Learning Center specialists, and Patient Education Committee reviewers, the Cancer Types and Topics webpages provide patients and caregivers information about everything from specific symptoms to tips and resources for chemo-related hair loss. Based on data from the National Cancer Institute (of which HCI is an official content distribution partner), cancer topics are also customized to meet the needs of our patients and their loved ones, including links to specific HCI departments, services, and resources.
