The Lowrance Group's research efforts focus on understanding and improving clinical outcomes for patients with urologic cancers. As a clinical outcomes researcher, he has conducted comparative effectiveness studies of outcomes between robotic and open radical prostatectomy. He also studies the cost and patterns of care, as well as disparities in treatment delivery of various genitourinary malignancies. He is investigating a possible link between chronic kidney disease and renal cancer. In addition to his health services research, he designs and conducts clinical trials studying novel approaches for the treatment of prostate, kidney, and bladder cancer.
