Neurosciences Acute Care

Our Mission

The mission of Neuro Acute Care (NAC) is to provide the best inpatient care in the region for patients with nervous system dysfunction or injury. Neuro Acute Care is dedicated to providing care for patients and their families in the most comprehensive way possible. This includes coordination with multiple professionals specially trained to work with neurosciences patients. We strive to lessen the effects of disease, prevent complication and improve patient outcomes. We are also committed to maintaining and improving the quality of life of those we serve.

About Us

Neuro Acute Care is a dedicated inpatient neuroscience acute care unit. We serve a wide range of patients with neurosurgical, neurological and general medical/surgical diagnoses.

Neuro Acute Care is one unit located on two floors of the hospital. We have 13 beds on the 5th floor of the Eccles Critical Care Pavilion. This unit is referred to as NAC or NACU. We also have 13 beds on 3 North. The same professional staff works on both floors.

NAC / 3North provide a seamless transition for patients moving from the Neuroscience Critical Care Unit (NCCU). We continue the plan of care started in NCCU and update it to make sure our patients are ready for discharge or transfer from the floor.
