Dr. Higgins

I am an Assistant Professor.  I joined the Department of Orthopaedics in 2000. I specialize in orthopaedic trauma surgery, with fellowship training and experience in both the acute and delayed management of the full spectrum of high-energy musculoskeletal injuries. I received my medical degree from Brown University, completed my orthopaedic residency training at Yale-New Haven Hospital, and pursued further sub-specialization with a fellowship in orthopaedic trauma surgery at the Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. I have published multiple studies in clinical research on tibial plateau fractures and other orthopaedic trauma topics, as well as basic science research on the role of IGF-1 on cartilage repair.
