Dr. David J. Petron

Dr. PetronI am an Assistant Professor (clinical) specializing in Primary Care Orthopaedic/Sports Medicine. I  originally trained in family practice and then completed a fellowship in primary care orthopaedics and sports medicine at Michigan State University. I am the Director of Primary Care Sports Medicine and the team physician for the University of Utah. I also am a team physician for the U.S. Ski Team and the Medical Director for the Park City Ski Injury Clinic. I specialize in non-operative treatment of the spine, shoulder, knee, ankle, and foot problems. I also have a special interest in overuse injuries that lead to tendonitis. I utilize the latest treatments for this, including shock wave therapy (Sonarex), for chronic tendon problems. I  also have a special interest in all nonoperative treatments for osteoarthritis and performs various injections (such as Synvisc) to alleviate joint pain.
