Hand Therapy Staff
Sarah Anderson, MOTR, CHT

Sarah received her B.S. in Kinesiology from the University Of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1997 and her M.S. in Occupational Therapy from San Jose State University in 2001. Prior to coming to the University of Utah Orthopedic Center, she worked at an in-patient rehabilitation hospital working with patients diagnosed with a variety orthopedic and neurological injuries. She has been working at the University of Utah Orthopedic Center since 2006. She received her certification in hand therapy in December 2008 and is a member of the American Society of Hand Therapists. When not working, Sarah participates in many outdoor activities including hiking, running, skiing and gardening and follows her favorite sports teams, including the Utah Jazz.
Kathy DeTemple, OTR, CHT
Kathy DeTemple OTR/CHT graduated from the University of Kansas in Occupational Therapy in 1978, she began working at the University of Utah in 1988 specializing in the treatment of hand and upper extremity injuries. Kathy obtained Certification in Hand Therapy the first year it was available in 1991. Kathy enjoys sharing her knowledge and experience both locally and nationally. She is an active member of the American Society of Hand Therapists, the American Association of Occupational Therapist and the Utah Occupational Therapist Association. Outside of work she enjoys her family, biking, hiking and skiing, she also enjoys volunteering her time to a variety of non profit organizations.
Cherly Hanzelka, OTR, CHT
Cheryl graduated from the University of Texas in 1987 with a BBA in Finance. After five years practicing finance in Texas she decided to change the path of her career and entered into the Masters Program of Occupational Therapy at Texas Womens University from which she graduated in 1997. She received her certification in hand therapy in December, 2006. Cheryl practiced exclusively in pediatrics in her early career and received her introduction to hand therapy while working with Dr. Hutchinson and Dr. Wang at Shriners Hospital Intermountain. She joined the UUOC Hand Therapy team in March, 2005 and received her certification in hand therapy in November, 2006. Cheryl most enjoys living with her partner of 8 years and making homemade wine.
Lana Keizer, OTR, CHT
Lana graduated from Colorado State University in 1989. She began her career in Occupational Therapy at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida, working in spine and head injury rehab, hands and burns. She received her certificate in Health Management in 1994. In 1996 she obtained a certificate in hand therapy and went on to work in several trauma hospitals in Altanta, Spartanburg and Indianapolis. In 1999, Lana moved to Grand Rapids, MI where she spent the next 10 years working as a CHT and raising 4 children. When not at work, Lana loves spending time with her family boating, hiking and camping.
Stephanie Sato Sueoka, MPT, DPT, CHT
Stephanie received her Masters in physical therapy from Idaho State University (1993) and her Doctorate in PT from the University of Utah (2006). She has been a certified hand therapist since 1999. Stephanie has worked for the University Hospital since 1994 and in addition to her orthopeadic hand experience she has extensive training in acute care, burn therapy and lymphedema therapy. She won the 2007 American Society of Hand Therapist's "Best Clinical Paper" Award for her paper on flexor tendon rehabilitation. Stephanie enjoys her children and family, gardening, home improvement projects, reading and many outdoor activities.
