About Hip Revision

The specialists at the University of Utah Orthopaedic Center improve the quality of life for people suffering from hip pain. The use of artificial hip implants is extremely effective in improving hip joints that are damaged by injury or from arthritis. Most hip replacements will last the rest of the patient’s life performing well; however, problems with the joint can arise, such as wear, loosening, infection and dislocation. These problems can cause the hip to be painful and swollen as well as lose functionality. Hip revision surgery is a procedure to repair the problems occurring with the replacement and return to activity.
