Altocor® is being withdrawn from the market because the name is too similar to Advicor®. Andrx Laboratories must withdraw all product and materials bearing the name “Altocor” by August 15, 2004. The company will provide specific instructions to pharmacies and wholesalers to return product.

Andrx Laboratories will introduce Altoprev®, which is identical to Altocor® in ingredients, strengths, appearance and price after August 15. Customers may call 800-668-4391 for assistance with shipping or questions about the withdrawal process.
