Stealth Powdered Dietary Supplements - Recall due to possible Salmonella

Vital Pharmaceuticals Inc. is recalling 17 lots of a powdered protein supplement sold under the names Stealth Chocolate and Stealth Vanilla due to possible bacterial contamination with Salmonella. No cases of Salmonella-related illness have been reported to date with these products. Symptoms of Salmonella infection include fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. Salmonella poses a particular health risk for very young children and for those with weakened immune systems, such as the elderly and frail, in whom it may cause serious infection and death.
The recalled product was distributed both nationally and internationally under the brand names UPX and STEALTH, Muscle Amplification Lean Mass Gainer. Distributors of the product within the US include GNC Distribution Centers and VPX Sports Distribution Center. The names of the flavors which appear on the label are Vanilla Blast or Chocolate Rush. Return the product to the store where purchased to obtain a refund.
