Description of Practice Site:
Evaluation of different anticoagulation patterns occurring in our hospital in all fields of practice except neurology.
Average Number of Patients:
Usually an evaluation of ~60-100 patients depending on what is needed.
Patient Care Responsibilities in this Area:
Usually a retrospective chart review so no patient contact, unless we are doing a prospective review.
Additional Resident Requirements During Rotation:
Residents are required to summarize, analyze, and report information to all interested individuals including pharmacists, physicians, nurses, and any other healthcare professionals. Potential for poster presentations and submissions to journals depending on outcomes.
