Wrinkle Correction and Skin Rejuvenation
Injectable fillers are used in a cosmetic procedure to correct wrinkles, depressions in the skin, and/or scarring. The procedure involves injecting a filler into the skin in order to plump or fill-up the area being treated. For some, however, the injections can stimulate the body's own production of collagen, lengthening the time necessary between follow-up injections.
Our facial plastic and reconstructive specialists use the following injectable fillers:
- Juvederm Ultra Plus
- Sculptra Aesthetic
Fat Injectable Fillers
Fat injections can help correct wrinkles, depressions in the skin, and/or scarring. Injecting one's own fat to correct skin defects is called microlipoinjection. It includes the transfer or recycling of fat from one body area to another allowing our surgeon to re-contour the skin. With a tiny needle, the fat is extracted and then re-injected into the selected site. This is often a favored treatment choice since it involves the use of one's own fat, reducing the risk of allergic reactions.
Sculptra Aesthetic is a facial injectable that subtly replaces lost collagen, giving you a more natural-looking appearance over time. A full treatment of Sculptra Aesthetic, on average, includes three injection sessions over a few months and can last up to two years. It helps correct shallow to deep facial wrinkles and folds that appear with aging by replacing lost collagen.
