Oct 28, 2003 5:00 PM
The Utah Poison Control Center (UPCC) has moved into a new building at 585 Komas Drive, Suite 200, in Research Park.
The move provides a number of benefits, including backup generator power and a 24-hour secured building, said UPCC Director, Barbara Insley Crouch, Pharm.D., M.S.P.H. The new location also has been renovated to meet current seismic codes.
The UPCC got a new phone system in the move and has a new administrative telephone number--1-801-587-0600--and a new number for educational materials--1-801-587-0603. The nationwide toll-free number for people to call the center with emergencies and questions--1-800-222-1222--and fax number--1-801-581-4199--have not changed.
The UPCC, part of the University of Utah College of Pharmacy, is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
