HealthGrades ranks University of Utah Hospital as top Salt Lake City Hospital in Overall Patient Experience
University receives top honors for the first time in national ranking

(SALT LAKE CITY) - University of Utah Hospital received top honors for the first time as the best hospital in the Salt Lake City region in overall patient experience according to a study conducted by CPM HealthGrades in 2012.
In the latest rankings by CPM HealthGrades, University of Utah Hospital ranked among the nation’s top 10 percent for patient experience, and the best in the Salt Lake City region, when compared to 3,797 other hospitals nationwide. The hospital was measured on ten different criteria including: overall rating by patients, recommendations to family/friends, communication with doctors and nurses, responsiveness of hospital staff, pain management, communication about medication, discharge information, cleanliness, and quietness.
“It’s gratifying to see that our goals are becoming a reality and patients feel as though they are receiving the best leading-edge and compassionate care possible from our excellent doctors, nurses, and staff,” said David Entwistle, CEO, University of Utah Hospitals and Clinics.
