Executive Director of Laura Bush Institute for Women's Health To Deliver Talks at 2012 Celebration of Women in Medicine and Science at U of U

(SALT LAKE CITY)- Marjorie Jenkins, M.D., the executive director of the Laura W. Bush Institute for Women’s Health at Texas Tech University Health Center, will deliver two seminars at the University of Utah on June 12 -13 as part of the 2012 Celebration of Women in Medicine and Science presented by the U of U school of Medicine.
Jenkins will first speak about “Women’s Health vs. Women’s Rights: Where Does Sex and Gender Fit in?” at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 12, in the Health Science Education Building room 1700 on the University of Utah campus. A pre-seminar social will be offered at 3:30 p.m.
The second presentation will be “Herbal Therapies: What’s on the Shelf and Your Health?” on Wednesday, June 13 at 12 p.m. in the Health Sciences Education Building room 1730 on the University of Utah campus. There will be a pre-seminar social offered at 11:30 a.m.
Jenkins graduated from Tennessee Tech University (TTU) with a degree in chemical engineering earned her medical degree at East Tennessee State University of Medicine. She has spent time in private practice and is now an associate professor at TTU School of Medicine; director of Overton Osteoporosis Center; and director of TTU Amarillo’s Women’s Health Fellowship Program.
