Abdominal/Pelvic CT Exam with Oral Contrast
For your abdominal/pelvic CT with oral contrast, we must ask that you have nothing to eat or drink 8 hours prior to the exam. You will begin drinking the contrast liquid 1.5 hours prior to your CT exam. Written instructions on how and when to drink the liquid will be given to you when you pick up the contrast liquid.
Oral Contrast may be picked up at any of the following locations:
University Hospital - Radiology Front Desk
CAMT - Radiology Front Desk
Huntsman Cancer Hospital - 3rd floor, Radiology Reception
Redwood Health Center - Radiology Front Desk
(for more information about these locations, click on "locations". )
It is very important to be properly prepped for an abdominal/pelvic CT with oral contrast.
If you are on any medications, please take them with a small amount of water in the morning. Please call us with any questions at 581-7840. Our CT technologists will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
