Robert L. Speakman, D.O., A.M.E.
Robert L. Speakman is a board-certified Family Medicine physician, who has a special interest in Aerospace Medicine. Following his training in Family Medicine, he attended the United States Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine [USAF-SAM]. This training includes, among other topics, aerospace physiology, qualifications of flying, preventive health of pilots, global disease, evaluation of medicines and medical conditions and their effect on flying, and accident board investigations. Dr. Speakman served on active duty in the USAF as a Flight Surgeon for several years. When he left military service, he continued his involvement in Aerospace Medicine, as an FAA Certified Aeromedical Examiner [AME], qualifying pilots and air traffic controllers for the FAA, as well as special NASA clearance examinations for aerospace contractors building the International Space Station. Here at Redstone, in addtiona to seeing adults and children for general medical care, he will be serving pilots by performing all classes of FAA Physical Exams. Dr. Speakman is a local resident in Wasatch County, and enjoys the semi-rural environment of the local mountains and valleys. He enjoys photography, golf, tennis, water and winter sports.
