The Rehabilitation Center in the University of Utah Hospital provides care for a variety of conditions, including brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury, related spasticity issues, amputation, and other form of illness and injury. The Rehabilitation Center’s dedicated teams of experienced and respected specialists support patients and their families throughout the rehabilitation process, from injury or illness to health and independence. Even after a patient leaves the inpatient center, specialty rehabilitation care is continued through outpatient physician services in the PM & R Clinic, outpatient therapy services, wellness programs, ongoing patient education and access to support groups.
The Division of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation provides specialty physician services for the Rehabilitation Center, which also features advanced assistive technology support to encourage independence, social interaction and improved quality of life. Sports, spine and other musculoskeletal care are provided at the University of Utah Orthopaedic Center and South Jordan Health Center; pediatric conditions at Primary Children’s Medical Center; and veteran’s rehabilitation at the VA Hospital.
