Functional improvement is measured by the Functional Independence Measure (FIM).  Eighteen different skills are evaluated.  The higher the FIM score, the more a person can do for themselves.  The functional status of our patients, on average, scored a 2.22 rating for daily improvement in skills learned from start of rehabilitative care through discharge.  This rating is significantly higher than the national average of 2.02.
