Neuro Education

Overview

Neuro Education is a free class for families and friends of patients who have experienced a brain injury, whether from traumatic brain injury, non-traumatic brain injury, or stroke. Family members can learn about neurological injury, what to look for, what to expect, and how friends and families can help their loved one as they recover. We believe that "Knowledge is power!" To help you learn, we have books and written materials for family. These written materials help attendees understand how brain injury occurs, common impairments or functional limitations, practices found in a rehabilitation facility, and tips for families on how to continue rehabilitation after discharge.

This class is offered every Wednesday afternoon. (with occasional changes in date due to holidays etc.) Classes start at 1:30pm and usually last until 3:30pm. The class is taught by our Rehab Educator and Social Worker.

Location

All classes are held in 2R110 (formerly room 262), the Rehab Education Room, located just west of the Rehab Elevators on the second floor (SOM).
