Therapies
Therapies are an essential component of your Inpatient Rehabilitation Program.
Your therapy team will be determined by the physician in collaboration with the teams assessment of your needs. Not all therapists are required by every patient. Your team may include
- physical therapy
- occupational therapy
- speech pathology
- recreational therapy
- social work
- psychology
- or neuropsychology.
The therapy team will work closely with you to assess, plan, treat and evaluate your progress from treatment. Changes to your treatment plan take place based upon changes in your progress and your needs. The therapists treatment will focus on developing functional progress in your assessed areas of impairment, improving your functional independence allowing you to return to the highest level of independence possible.
The therapists are highly trained in their fields with specialized training for treatment of neurological disease or injuries, brain injuries, cognitive retraining, Neuro Development Training (NDT,) amputations, serial casting, stump care, orthotics, spinal cord injury, positioning, trachs and vents, stroke, balance, swallowing, wound care, multi-trauma.
