General Acute Rehabilitation Services

General Acute Therapy Services provides clinical care to clients of University Health Care. These services focus on the critical and acute portion of the continuum of care. The scope of activities is as follows:

Therapy services are provided to inpatients in University Hospital upon the order of an appropriately credentialed health care provider. The therapists provide care to patients as requested in the following areas:

  • Physical Therapy
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Speech Therapy
  • Patient/Family Education
  • Hydro Therapy
  • Wound Care
  • Gait Analysis and Training
  • Dysphagia Evaluation and Training
  • Cognitive Evaluation & Retraining
  • Cardiac Rehab
  • Functional Exercise

The General Acute Program serves populations that may include newborn, adolescent, adult and geriatric. Services are also provided, on occasion, to pediatric patients.
