Larry Orr Receives UTA Award

for Contribution to Wheelchair Tennis

Serving as graphic designer for University Health Care Rehabilitation Center, Larry Orr has great insight into his work.  Outside the office however, Larry also demonstrates talent on the tennis court.
With twenty-three years’ experience playing wheelchair tennis, Larry is a long-time member of the wheelchair tennis team supported by the TRAILS Program (Therapeutic Recreation and Independent Lifestyle) here at the Rehabilitation Center.  His dedication to wheelchair tennis was recently recognized by the Utah Tennis Association (UTA), as he was the 2008 Harry James “Will to Win” Award recipient.  Since the establishment of this award almost twenty years ago, its purpose has been to acknowledge players who have made generous contributions to wheelchair tennis, both as a player and advocate of the sport.  Larry was recognized for setting such a great example in expressing enthusiasm on and off the court as well as through his willingness to help others.
His devotion to activities supported by TRAILS has been tremendous, and in addition, he has played a vital role in keeping close contact between TRAILS, UTA, and its participants.  Congratulations, Larry!
