Massage and Cancer Patients
Massage and Cancer Patients
Massage is an important part of starting patients on a road to returned health. Massage can have many positive influences on a person being treated for cancer such as:
- Improvement in their mood
- Decreased feelings of anxiety
- Induces relaxation and restfulness
- Decreases their sense of isolation
- Decreases symptoms of pain
Huntsman Cancer Hospital in-patients may receive massage as a complementary service with consent from their healthcare coordinators. Patients who are receiving care on an out-patient basis can schedule therapeutic massage sessions for a fee.
