How we help patients at home
- We take care of medications to prevent or treat blood clots.
- We see patients in clinic or talk with them on the phone to help take care of blood clotting problems.
- We can be reached 24 hours a day to help patients taking medications to prevent or treat blood clots.
Mission
The University of Utah Health Care Thrombosis Service is a group of physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and support staff whose goal is to provide excellent care to patients at risk of developing blood clots or to those who have blood clots or blood clotting problems.
We work with patients before they enter the hospital, during a hospital stay, at clinic visits, or after discharge home from the hospital, depending on a patient’s needs.
Vision
- To provide expert care and service to patients who have, or who are at risk for blood clotting problems.
- To provide education and expert assistance to health care providers, about the management of patients with blood clotting problems or risk.
- To increase available knowledge about thrombosis management and care.
