Donor Recruitment

Selection of donors for our program is critical for its success. We use healthy young women from all walks of life, single women and mothers, career women and homemakers, college students, women with varied interests, talents, education and abilities. The average age of our donors is approximately 25 years old. Many have children while others haven’t yet begun that journey. Each donor is handpicked, and has a strong desire to help others. Our donors are caring, generous, altruistic and want to contribute to our center and our community in a very needful way.

An egg donor recipients may use our in-house anonymous egg donors or choose to use a family member or close friend. Compliance with all FDA requirements and regulations are maintained.

The Egg Recipient Process

To begin the egg recipient process, a consult will be scheduled with one of our physicians. During your egg recipient consult you will also meet with the egg donor nurse coordinator. She will discuss the program in detail and answer any questions you might have regarding donor selection, medications, lab work and calendaring of cycle. A list of physical characteristics, hobbies, interests, ethnic background, educational requests you may be interested in for your potential donor will be verbalized and recorded to help in the matching process. The process of receiving donor packets in the mail, identified by donor number is also discussed.

The egg donation process can be an emotional and stressful time. As part of the process, couples meet with our clinical psychologist, Laura Czajkowski, to discuss the challenges and feelings they may experience. As a professional in this field, she has worked with The Utah Center for Reproductive Medicine since 1987 providing emotional support and guidance to our patients.
