Purpose
To assist clinic staff with patient communication and flow.
Reports To
Center Manager
Days/Hours
Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm (Minimum of 4 hours required)
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must demonstrate the ability to accurately interpret and translate verbal and written text in Spanish
- Must complete the volunteer interpreter orientation
Volunteer Duties/Responsibilities
- Direct patients and families to locations in the health center
- Check in/out wheel chairs at entrances
- Interpret communication between the health care staff and the Spanish-speaking patients.
- Translate written educational materials and hospital documents in accordance with hospitality readability guidelines.
- Assist patients in completing forms.
