University Health Care is at the forefront of women's healthcare, offering a more personal and complete approach to well being through a dedicated women's healthcare center.
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and University of Utah Hospitals and Clinics are staffed by specialists in all areas of women's health, with a special emphasis on; preventive medicine, obstetrics, gynecology, nutrition, breast cancer, osteoporosis, menopause, gynecologic cancer, urogynecology, and infectious disease.
In addition to the full range of medical services for women, University Health Care provides information on wellness, educational resources on numerous health-care issues, emotional and social support, and nutritional and exercise guidance. The nationally designated Center of Excellence in Women's Health at the University of Utah also provides a wide range of resources for women and their families that address seven domains of health; physical, psychological, intellectual, environmental, spiritual, occupational/economical, and social.
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology also offers extensive services in reproductive medicine and the treatment of infertility. The Utah Center for Reproductive Medicine, the first such program in the intermountain west, is a national leader in successful delivery rates.
