HTML Series Training

The WRC HTML training is a hands-on training for UUHSC employees responsible for maintaining their department websites. To register for an upcoming HTML Training, go to the registration page at http://uuhsc.utah.edu/ITS/training/register. Dates and times of available classes are listed on this page.

Training Objectives and Description

The training will provide the student with specific skills focused on using UUHSC proprietary templates, UUHSC- Web Resource Center server environment, Web Resource Center Cascading Style Sheets and WRC Template coding methods.

At the completion of the HTML series, (3 2-hour classes) students will:

  • Have a better understanding of WRC recommended web best practices
  • Have a working knowledge of basic HTML tags and HTML page structure
  • Have a clear understanding of the process involved in maintaining their department website
  • Know how to obtain an FTP account allowing them access to their department website directory on the WRC maintained servers
  • Know how to upload documents and images to the UUHSC production server
  • Know how to access their department website .html pages and make updates
  • Have a better understanding of how new pages are created
  • Understand how to add their department information to the WRC templates for their department needs
  • Understand how to change the existing look of the WRC templates by using the customized style sheet
