Burn Prevention & Education Programs

Prevention Programs About Injuries for Children, Teens, & Adults

As a national American Burn Association and American College of Surgeon-verified Burn Center, we are committed to providing education in order to eliminate fire deaths and injuries. University of Utah Health Burn Center's Educational Programs were developed to address the medical, social, and financial consequences of injury and disability.

Prevention programs address injuries to children, adolescents, and adults, as well as those who work in at risk professions. In addition to the prevention and education programs, the team presents at community health fairs, fire safety, and open houses. We also offer burn disaster management classes.

Verified Burn Center Experts

Why does it matter that we are a verified burn center? The American Burn Association and the American College of Surgeons designed a rigorous review program that ensures verified centers offer the best care for their patients. This includes the whole patient experience from the time of injury through rehabilitation.

It also means we meet the highest quality of care available because we meet these high quality standards. The standards are for personnel qualifications, facilities resources, organizational structure, and medical care services.
