Burn Trauma Intensive Care Unit (BTICU) | University of Utah Health

This unique, 12-bed unit is the only burn trauma center in a 400-mile radius in the Intermountain West and serves the largest geographical area of any burn center in the country. The burn ICU long has been the primary referral center for the region's acute burn patients, admitting 300-350 children and adults a year. As a nurse in the burn ICU, you'll treat patients with conditions that include:

  • Chemical burns
  • Electrical burns
  • Heat and fire burns
  • Skin diseases such as Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis
  • Soft-tissue infections that require surgery
