Brief Summary

The purpose of this study is to understand the role of nutrition and its effects on the eye and other tissues.  We propose to study this by validating and correlating various non-invasive measurement methods of carotenoid concentrations in the human eye and skin tissue.

A secondary objective is to correlate blood levels of carotenoids on a sub-set of participants.

This IRB application is intended to replace IRB # 7748.  The original IRB application was approved before the IRB's online ERICA system was implemented, and as new staff have joined the study team, we felt it appropriate to submit a new application rather than an amendment.  Once IRB approval is obtained for this new application, we will submit a final study report for IRB 7748.
