Simple Summary

We are conducting a research study because we hope to learn which of four (4) frailty assessment tools best predict each patient’s surgery outcomes.

Inclusion Criteria

Adult (18 years and older)

Male and Female

English speaking;

Patients scheduled for one of these elective surgeries/procedures will be enrolled:

  • Carotid artery stent (CAS)
  • Carotid endarterectomy (CEA)
  • Endovascular infrarenal abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) repair (EVAR)
  • Open infrarenal abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) repair (OAAA)
  • Peripheral Vascular Intervention (PVI)
  • Lower Extremity Bypass- inguinal (INFRA)
  • Lower Extremity Bypass-Supra-inguinal (SUPRA)
  • TEVAR and Complex Aortic Repair (Complex EVAR/TEVAR)

 

 

Exclusion Criteria

Participant Exclusion Criteria:

Emergency surgeries/procedures (not planned/elective)

Patients operated upon without being seen in clinic before this surgery

Patients currently receiving hospice and/or palliative care services

Participant Reimbursement

Patients will not be paid.
