GM Southwest Insurance requires referrals for all services with the following four exceptions:
1. The service is for maternity or psychiatric care
2. The service is for a medical emergency
3. The Student Health Center is closed
4. The insured is outside a 25-mile radius from campus

If unable to obtain referral or service is not on the exception list, the account must be made Self-Pay and the Self-Pay financial policy followed.
