Bio

Dr. Maloney graduated medical school from the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO. He moved to Salt Lake City UT, completing pediatric residency and Chief residency at the University of Utah Affiliated hospitals. He then completed a post-­‐ doctoral research fellowship in molecular biology at the University of Utah Nora Eccles Harris Cardiovascular Research Training Institute and clinical fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care in the University of Utah School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics and Primary Children’s Hospital. Dr. Maloney received his PhD from the University of Utah Department of Biomedical Informatics with an emphasis on computerized clinical decision support systems.

Dr. Maloney is the Chief Medical Officer and Chair of Medicine for Primary Children’s Hospital. He is also the Division Chief for Pediatric Inpatient Medicine and Associate Chair for Inpatient Services for the University of Utah School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics. Dr. Maloney is active in team science and his current research interests include computerized clinical decision support at the point of care and using quality improvement methods to enhance value for hospitalized children.
