Dr. Maulden's interests also include healthcare quality improvement, implementing healthcare guidelines into best practices, and clinical outcomes research. In 2011, she was selected for the American Academy of Neurology's Palatucci Advocacy Leadership Forum, which assisted her in developing a project to use VA’s electronic health record system to create, implement, and share standard computerized order sets in order to improve quality of stroke care. She is site co-Principle Investigator with Dr. Jana Wold on VA's Intervention for Stroke Performance Improvement Using Redesign Engineering (INSPIRE) study, and recently assisted in designating the Salt Lake VA Medical Center as a Utah Stroke Receiving Facility.
