Amazing! This is the first time that I have had a doctor really understand the challenges of RLS and what it is like to live with this disorder. I appreciated that he also asked my husband for input, as he witnesses the impact that RLS has on both of our lives. So very excited that I now have a team of professionals who can help me find a treatment plan that is based on knowledge, research and genuine understanding of my circumstances. Based on my interaction with the doctors and staff, I am optimistic about my future for the first time in several years!

The provider normally has a resident that is training be a participant at my yearly appointment. This time I met with the resident first and she had a lot of questions for me. The doctor showed up for a final decision on medication only. The appointment was longer then expected due to questions by PA that checked me in, questions by resident and finally the doctor. When I have an appointment with the doctor I would really like to have time with him alone. For the last 3 years there is always someone in the appointment to be a part of my appointment and this year to meet with me without the doctor. I don't like this method and it makes the appointments very long.

He also did not seem negative about how weight issues could be affecting my sleep, but instead assured me that if sleep apnea is occurring, weight loss is even more difficult until sleep is under control. The doctor is very knowledgeable, professional and polite, but maybe not interested in my case? I would have liked more information on the download from my bipap/asv machine and my current condition. The bipap machine is still not working well for me, and he didn't mention any other solutions to getting me better sleep. He did contact the department to which he referred me, which is much appreciated. It's just frustrating because no one seems to think my problems are urgent, and I keep getting passed on to someone else (not just at the U of U Sleep Clinic.) Maybe my expectations are unreasonable, but I keep hoping for a doctor who will take responsibility for my case and make sure I get in to see the appropriate doctors and get the correct tests. Like I said, this is not just the U of U sleep/wake center. I've gone through this over and over with other doctors and clinics. The longer I'm ill and exhausted, the harder it is to keep trying to get help. I want to give up, but can't.

After the appointment, I was a bit confused about why I am taking this new medication. Dr. Sundar suggested that we might see about cutting back on the other medications I'm taking now. Not sure if the new meds are meant to eventually replace current meds. I would be worried about that because the current medications are working so well. So, I'm confused about what the new medication is for. I thought it was intended to make the current medications more effective(?)

I was not told what was going on next in the process. They did not tell me that the doctor would have to go through the test results or anything. It would be nice to at least been told that I would have to wait or something. They gave me no iformation what so ever.

Dr. Sundar does not exude any kind of friendliness. I felt as though I was just another person on the factory line that he was seeing. There was no smile, no personal touch to our discussion in any way. I left feeling I was doing better medically but there was no explanation of what I needed to do going forward.

I have many severe problems and had to push to have them considered and there was no interest or concern express in regards to how these problems might affect the test and certainly no explanation to me if my problems (including sever back pain and my concerns about taking the sleeping pill) would affect the test.

I felt that the doctor did not care as much about me as the doctor that saw me previously. He told me that a tech would see me shortly about a new mask, however, left me in the waiting room and probably did not inform the tech that I had been in the office for an hour already.

Dr. Sundar drew images, explained sleep apnea causes in detail, and answered all of my questions. I had indicated on my form that I wanted to see the doctor after my sleep night, since I was unusually cold restless and wanted to ask if that could affect the diagnosis. The doctor left a message, but only mentioned follow-up about getting equipment. I'm not sure what to do. Aside from that, Dr. Sundar has a very good presence in addition to being highly informative.

Dr. Had no interest in discussing the issues I wanted to discuss. Was focused on other issues that are hard to worry about without primary resolved. In my opinion Dr. Was suggesting I self medicate the primary issue to work on secondary issue.

Dr Sundar is kind, caring and competent. He took the time to not only explain results of my testing, but also to consider other options for treating my problem, even unrelated to his specialty. He even called a colleague for advise after my visit and followed up with me by email. This was by far the best medical visit I have had in a year of 'doctoring' for a chronic condition.

I was told to prepare for a 1.5-2 hour appointment. I waited for well over an hour and spent about 15 minutes with the doctor. I had spent hours putting together the patient packet, but it was barely glanced at. He was obviously rushed and preoccupied.

I was thinking the whole visit was a waste of time because now I know what I need to do and I don't require any equipment or medication, but then told me of some classes that they are working on that would help me with exercises to help my condition, so I decided I would continue.

I like Dr. Sundar. He is detailed and thorough. He remembers details about me that I'd never expect him to remember. He seems very concerned about my over all health. The only thing I see as having room for improvement is the time it takes to get in (booked for 4-6 months.) Even that isn't quite as important since it's not necessary to see the doctor as often, for sleep disorders!

I'm very impressed with Dr. Sundar. He listens to what you have to say and is very thorough. He seems to think outside the box. I think he has a sense of humor under his professional hat, as he gets a little smile on his face when I'm trying to be funny.
