    Dr. Archibeck was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He left New Mexico after high school and attended the University of Notre Dame for his undergraduate education. He went on to attend medical school at U.C.L.A. He then completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Utah. He subsequently spent a year of fellowship training specifically in adult reconstruction at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s and Midwest Orthopaedics in Chicago.

    Following his fellowship, he and his wife returned home to Albuquerque, where he developed a busy joint replacement practice and they raised their four daughters. Dr. Archibeck was thrilled to return to the University of Utah in 2021 as an associate professor.

    Outside of work he enjoys time with his family, cycling, and brewing beer.

    He took his time to explain how the knee works and what was happening to mine, he gave me alternatives to having knee surgery and then explained the surgery option along with the risk and benefits. He then let me make the decision on which way I wanted to go. He's very easy to talk to.
